For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked, Mint 2004 Aurora 85th Anniversary Limited Edition Fountain Pen in Red Marbled resin with Solid Sterling Silver Trim. This Fountain Pen has the original 85th Anniversary wooden lacquered box and Aurora literature/documentation. I consider this fountain pen in Mint, never-inked condition, and is a spectacular example produced by Aurora.
This Aurora 85th Anniversary Fountain Pen is a Limited Edition #1196 of 1919. The cap and barrel are in perfect condition with no cracks, nicks, scratches, or repairs. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The Sterling Silver trim is perfect with no dings or dents. The limited edition number, 1196, is imprinted on the back of the cap, as photographed in the listing images. The Sterling marker "925" is also stamped on the top back of the cap, as seen in the photos.
In celebration of 85 years of refined Italian craftsmanship, Aurora is proud to present the 85th Anniversary Limited Edition. The Aurora 85th Anniversary Limited Edition fountain pen is fitted with a highly decorated palladium-plated medium-width solid 18K gold nib. All trim is engraved in solid sterling silver. This fountain pen displays a vibrant red marble resin with accented gleaming solid sterling silver trim. The cap features an oval-shaped top with an in-laid mosaic-type Aurora logo and a sterling clip with the number 85 inscribed. The Fountain Pen measures 5 1/8" capped and 6 1/8" posted.
This Aurora fountain pen uses a piston filler and in my tests with water, it works very smoothly and fills as one would expect. The ink view window is very large and clear and provides easy viewing of ink levels. The nib is a shiny palladium-plated 18K gold type that extends the silver look of the trim.
The nib is marked 18K, 750, Aurora, and has a medium point that measures .85mm with measuring with digital calipers. I have never inked this pen and wanted to keep it in uninked, New Old Stock condition for the next owner.
This Aurora comes with the original Aurora boxes, Aurora instruction booklet, and full Aurora ink bottle. The packaging/boxes are in excellent condition!
