This is a large lot of papers associated with the Thuns, an extended family of industrialists and philanthropists based in and around Reading, Pennsylvania. Represented here are Ferdinand Thun (1866-1949); his sons Louis R. Thun (1908-1999) and Ferdinand K. Thun (1934-2023). Most of the items appear to have been sent to Harold Thompson, who was an officer at Thun Investment Company of Wyomissing.

Included are about 20 items including personal letters, photographs, business correspondence, and legal agreements. One nice item is a 1949 issue of The Yarn Carrier, a magazine for employees of the Thun-owned Wyomissing Industries, which includes a lengthy memorial to Ferdinand Thun.
