Benefits of Sapphire Crystal:Many ask about the benefits of sapphire crystal over standard mineral crystal. Synthetic sapphire is the best material for watch crystals due to its exceptional strength and resistance to shattering and scratching. These qualities make it ideal for military and security personnel, police officers, and those with active outdoor lifestyles, who comprise over 70% of our customers. When accidents involving watches result in cracked crystals, over 90% involve mineral glass crystals. Even with hardened mineral crystals, they do not match sapphire's durability in adverse conditions. Sapphire crystals undergo heat treatment to remove internal stresses, enhancing strength, and are then crafted into watch crystals with two layers of anti-reflective coating. Interestingly, sapphire crystal is now standard on the latest iPhones. While sapphire crystal is more costly, it is typically fitted only to higher-end watches due to its superior quality. |
