Stunning vintage 18k gold inlaid Damascene pendant necklace. This beautiful necklace was converted from a large vintage brooch. The design is very detailed on a matte black background with 18k gold inlaid bird and flower design. 

Black matte onyx beads and delicate brass filigree bead caps complete the design. The necklace measures 18-1/2” long. The pendant measures 2-3/8“ in diameter. The quality and workmanship is exceptional! It fastens with a beautiful lobster clasp. 

The design technique is called Damascene- the art of inlaying different metals (typically gold & silver), into a black background. These pieces were made in Spain. This piece is true, vintage Damascene. It was later largely reproduced in a painted-on finish, which is not true Damascene. The real thing is more valuable and of amazing quality.
