This skin is boraxed.

However, this was a late season bird as you can tell by the plumage. Because of that it was a fatty bird. This means it could continue to use borax baths and fat trims. Also it could just be stored in the freezer.

Because of this high fat content, there are patches where the feathers are oily. This typically means they need to receive continual borax baths.

This is still an awesome skin and very sought after. A true gem at the fly bench.
