B & K Series Performance Oil Pump Spring
This spring replaces the factory oil pressure relief spring, and has about double the spring rate. In turn, this will allow your oil pump to produce higher oil pressure at mid to high rpm, because the relief valve will open later and will open less when it does, thus wasting less oil flow. Having high oil pressure in the high rpm range can be absolutely vital for preventing engine failure and wear in performance modified engines. This spring will increase the pressure at which the oil relief valve opens by about 33%. This will increase by about 10% further for each shim added.
- 2X STIFFER SPRING: The higher spring rate is more effective than the OEM spring, because it increases seat pressure, decreases the rate that the relief valve opens at, and it makes shimming twice as effective.
- SHIMS INCLUDED: You will also receive three 1 millimeter thick shims, to allow for a wide range of customization of maximum oil pressure.
- GUARANTEED FITMENT: Both the spring and shims are guaranteed to fit any B series and K series oil pump without any modification, or your money back. This includes OEM, ACL, and other aftermarket oil pumps.
- LIFETIME WARRANTY: Should your high pressure spring ever fail for any reason (not that we expect it to) it will be replaced at no expense to you.
*Note* - The spring you receive will be slightly shorter than the OEM spring. This is accounted for; our spring has a higher spring rate, and a higher seat pressure, even when installed with no shims. The reduction in length actually allows for easier install and maintains full range of motion of the relief valve even when excessively shimmed.
