Vintage Navajo sand art/painting (iikaah) of The Thunderbird, by SHALAKO DIST CO. This is such a gorgeous representation. A true Native American/Indian piece that symbolizes so much.  It's in a wooden frame, but there is no glass in the frame. You can see a few water marks on the white line that's visible on the front, but the sand painting is in tact. On the back of the painting, there's a printed piece of paper titled THE THUNDERBIRD, and it tells a few facts about what it means to the Navajo and where the "sand"  that was used came from. The paper that it's on was ripped when I received it, and is taped back on so it doesn't get lost in the shuffle somewhere, so unfortunately, it's not able to be fully read. 5 1/8" across left to right, 6 1/4" top to bottom, 1/2" thick frame. Good shape. Smoke free home.
