Ein Weinstock umrankt eine Ulme.

Die Ulme als den durch Joseph verbürgten Schutz Marias (Weinstock),
sowie deren heranreifender Frucht, Jesus, als Traube.

Radierung von Jacques Callot (1592-1635), Nr. 6 aus "Vita Beatae Mariae"
(Das Leben Marias, in Emblemen) (Lieure 626-652), um 1625-29,
im 2. Zustand (von 2), mit der Nummer, so erschienen bei
François Langlois, il Ciartres (1588-1647), (Paris), um 1646.
Ein späterer Abdruck des 19. Jh..

Ausgezeichneter Abdruck auf feinem Bütten mit Rand um die Platte,
links sehr schmal. Leicht fleckig, vereinzelt Leimreste. Mit allen
vier Ecken auf Trägerpapier befestigt.

A vine entwines an elm.

The elm as the protection of Mary (vine) guaranteed by Joseph,
as well as for her ripening fruit, Jesus (grape).

Excellent impression on fine laid paper with margins around the plate,
narrow at left. Minor staining, remains of glue here and there. Fixed to
support with all corners.
