Different brands of solar panel connectors may have different polarities. Female plug of the solar connector is POSITIVE(Male-Negative and Female-Positive). The RED wire is positive(+) and the BLACK wire is negative(-). The "+/-" mark on the solar connector is used to distinguish whether the connector is male or female, not for positive and negative polarity.
