Replica of the Order of Saint Anne, 2nd Class Cross with Diamonds (Late 18th – Early 19th Century Type)
High-quality replica of the insignia of the Order of Saint Anne, 2nd Class, adorned with diamonds, based on examples from the late 18th to early 19th century.
Dimensions: 45 × 50 mm (including suspension loop). Manufactured from jewelry-grade alloy with gold-plated surfaces and silver-plated stone settings. The diamonds are represented by high-quality white glass stones, while all four arms of the cross are crafted from polished red glass. The central medallions on both the obverse and reverse are executed in enamel.
The insignia was worn suspended from the knot of the Order’s silk moiré sash, 100 mm in width, draped over the left shoulder and accompanied by the Order’s star worn on the right side of the uniform.
From 1797 to 1828, the insignia of the 1st and 2nd Classes of the Order of Saint Anne were often embellished with precious stones, diamonds, or rose-cut diamonds, constituting a higher and more prestigious variant of the award. Beginning in 1829, precious stones were generally removed from the insignia of the 1st and 2nd Classes. Exceptions were made only for awards bestowed upon foreign recipients or subjects of the Russian Empire by special decree of the Imperial Court Chancellery.
This finely crafted replica accurately reproduces the appearance and decorative features of one of the most distinguished versions of the Imperial Russian Order of Saint Anne.
