This antique watercolor and ink landscape painting on silk scroll with a colorful damask border may be from the late Quing dynasty (1850-1911) or early 19th century. 




Painting Details:



The painting is an amazing display of a mountain range with a small Chinese village amongst the colorful sky, trees, and cliffs. A magnificent waterfall runs down the left side of the painting. There are several small houses in the village as well as an open-air gazebo where villagers would meet and entertain. 


This multicolor painting of various shades of blue, gray, white, and black watercolors and ink still appear with rich, vibrant colors.


The painting is attached to a colorful gold and blue Damask border of repeating patterns. 


At the bottom of the scroll is a black wooden dowel.


The watercolors and ink are commensurate with other antique paintings.
