Pattern Description: Silver plate, Shell & Scrolls Design, Glossy Finish. Made in Sheffield, England. These are marked 'EPNS A1 SHEFFIELD ENGLAND'. EPNS represents Electro Plated Nickel Silver meaning silver plated over a base metal alloy made mostly of nickel. The term A1 is mostly a marketing ploy meant to indicate that a piece was of superior plating. Despite the silver plating, this is a high quality set with weight and a nice feel in the hand. This set included a Certificate of Authenticity from the City of Sheffield England, Signed by the Lord Mayor ca. 1982-1983. See photos.
