Late 1800's Violin - Bara LaBary - Professor Melzakowski - Alexander Sebald

This fine collector's instrument was from the late 1800's originally thought to be made by a proud member of the Amati family, but apparently has no relation to Amati.

Nonetheless, it is still believed to be "treasured as highly as those made by contemporary Stradivarius."

It was last owned by early 20th Century Published virtuoso Bara LaBary, who studied under Professor Anatoli Melzakowski at the Chicago Musical College (1911) - who was Principal Assistant to Master Alexander Sebald at his violin school in Berlin.

Being a true "collector's instrument" owned by an artist of contemporary fame & recognition, along with her original sheet music is a rare find (and therefore difficult to price appropriately).
