CHROME DIOPSIDE SPHERE ENHANCING LOVE 46 MM 160 G

Diopside stones are naturally found in the region of Europe and mainly in the region of Siberia. Chrome Diopside belongs to the family of pyroxene, and they are evolved from the metamorphic and igneous rocks.

Chrome diopside is coloured by chromium, the same element that gives emerald its rich green colour. This beautiful intense green colour and its high refraction give the gem great brilliance and life. Diopside is found in many areas around the world and in different colours, however, gem quality chrome diopside is mined in the mountains of Siberia, Russia near diamond bearing kimberlite pipes. 

In 1988, this “new” green gem from Russia started to be seen in the jewellery industry and is sometimes referred to as Siberian Emerald or Yakutian Emerald in the trade. The resemblance of its colour to Tsavorite Garnet, Chrome Tourmaline, and Emerald made it a standout, and the more affordable price made it popular. 

For sale is a Chrome Diopside sphere from Sakha Region (former Yakutia), Russia. The sphere has medium green  colour with darker and lighter shades.       There are some Black Tourmaline and white Quartz inclusions.
