These capacitors have gained a worthy reputation in the audiophile world. Combined with a good film bypass capacitor, they can form one of the best output coupling capacitor systems for blocking DC, while allowing the best in a music signal to pass.

These have long been used as audio-grade choices for the Millett Hybrid, Starving Student, and its many derivatives, some of which can be found on Beezar Audio's documentation site, DIYForums.org.

Audiophile grade electrolytic capacitors are getting scarce.  These FG capacitors NO LONGER SHOW on Nichicon's website ... RIGHT NOW (8/25/2025).  Mouser doesn't have them, neither does DigiKey - they show stock as "0." Elna Silmics are no longer made, neither are Nichicon KZs. Nichicon has a mix right now of showing ES capacitors as either "End Of Life (EOL)" or "Not Recommended for New Design (NRND)."

Buy these while you still can ... I have sold several Black Gate NX electrolytic capacitors in the past couple of months for over a hundred dollars each!  It won't be long before these will become expensive, too.
