AutoClose function: Automatic distinction between air and steam

At the optimal venting point of a solar thermal system (highest point), steam formation can occur due to operational reasons. Since it was not possible to differentiate between air and steam until now, the solar vents installed at the high point opened and degassed the system.

The resulting loss of fluid led to the shutdown of the solar system.

A bimetal integrated in the air separator closes the vent valve at temperatures slightly below the steam limit. Steam can then no longer escape. Once the solar fluid has cooled down again, this lock is opened again and suitable air can be separated.
