The correct choice of material, precise machining and special heat treatment are crucial for the long and safe function of REMS pressing tongs. During the pressing process, pressing forces of up to 100 kN (10 t) can arise at the pressing tongs, which must be safely absorbed by the pressing tongs. REMS pressing tongs are therefore made of forged and particularly hardened special steel with high strength. The respective system-specific press contour - together with the required external machining of the press jaws and the marking of the press contour and pipe size - is machined with high precision in one operation on CNC machining centers and precisely rounded by machine. The special heat treatment of the pressing tongs in our own hardening shop achieves an ideal combination of strength and toughness. This manufacturing process guarantees that the machined press contour is transferred to the press connection properly and with a long service life.
