First Marlins' manager

This baseball was signed for me by Rene Lachemann, Manager  after a Florida Marlins Second season game in 1994     I am downsizing my Florida Marlin collection.  Please view my other Florida Marlin Inaugural season and second season items up for sale.  My husband has put me under a salary cap.  One owner .... you can be next at bat!  and

"Due to his success with the Athletics, on October 23, 1992, he became the expansion Marlins’ first manager when they entered the National League at the outset of the 1993 season.[7][8] He was chosen over candidates such as former major league managers Bill Virdon and Jimy Williams, and also was a finalist for the managerial job with the Texas Rangers, who hired Kevin Kennedy.

The Marlins were 64–98 (.395) in their inaugural season, good for sixth place in the NL East while being five games better than the New York Mets. In the strike-shortened season of 1994, they went 51–64 (.443) for a fifth-place finish. Florida improved to 67–76 (.469) and a fourth-place ranking the following year. For 1996, the team was playing slightly below average, being 39–47 (.453) by the time of the All-Star break."

Chris Hammond #11 Second season Marlins team signed baseball from 1994 "Chris Hammond was a member of the inaugural Marlins team that began play in Major League Baseball in 1993. In his inaugural season as a Marlin, he hit two home runs (one a pinch-hit grand slam), and pitched his way to a 4.66 ERA in 191 innings. In 1994, he experienced somewhat more success (a 3.07 ERA) in a season shortened by injuries. After a mediocre 1995 season, Hammond's career seemed to hit a nosedive. His first stint with the Florida Marlins would end in 1996, where he totaled a 6.56 ERA and would face a demotion to the bullpen."  Afterwards he went to the Boston Red Sox.  In 1998 came back to the Florida Marlins.  (I had already moved out of town.)
