This incredibly scarce silver coin was designed by one of Australia's most popular and successful contemporary artists.
The Royal Australian Mint began striking silver one-ounce coins with a kangaroo reverse in 1993, and this series is now hugely popular with collectors right around the world.
Mintage figures of the Australian silver kangaroos are absolutely tiny when compared to the same coins from the United States - this coin has a mintage of 6,802 - far lower than most.
Reg Mombassa's artwork has graced T-shirts, album and CD covers as well as billboards, calendars, books, diaries, and even a Melbourne tram.
His larrikin humour is evident in the design of the 2008 Kangaroo coins - it features the iconic kangaroo in Aussie suburbia ready for a game of football.
The coin and card remain in as-issued condition.
