The Schneider Company in has been creating lovely, handmade porcelain dolls at its factory in Coburg, Germany since 1934 and they're considered highly collectible. I don't normally buy dolls at estate sales, but the quality and beauty of this one, with tags attached, hooked me. Her blonde hair is soft and looks real, and her outfit includes a patterned brown hat with a white and blue-striped sun cover which is textured to the touch. The top of her dress is dark blue with fringes at left and right. The sewn, pattern belt is tight around her waist, and the plaid semi-pleated skirt is over a tightly pleated red underskirt with a wide green shiny (maybe satin) ribbon just above its lower edge; Beneath it are two fancy petticoats with lace-like trim at the edges, and beneath them is a pants-like petticoat similar to a fancy pajama bottom. Her black shows are hard plastic with minimal heels.
The very attracted doll with blonde braids was a popular model and she's in various outfits among the porcelain Schneider dools for sale on eBay. I was unable to find an exact match for my doll's outfit, so it's uncommon. The same doll with a different hat and dress, listed as used and absent tags, is $39.00 +$16.45 shipping. The accompanying photos suggest it's in fine condition. My doll has the Certificate and company plastic ornament, so it's more collectible.
My Buy-It-Now price of $40.00 includes shipping bubble-wrapped in a cardboard box via Ground Advantage, which takes 5-6 days with tracking and insurance.
