Camera powers on when you hold the power adapter in place. One of the latch slots that holds the battery/power adapter is broken and thus you have to hold it in place for it to stay on. A piece of the body is broken off from the rest of the body on the back bottom behind/under the casette slot. One of the hinges of the input panel is broken as well. Something is loose inside when you move the camera around, likely a piece of the casing damage. I believe the only reason it isn't a viable camera is due to the casing damage making it impossible to maintain a power connection and it could be a great candidate for parts or repair.
