This series was issued by Shoreditch firm R & J HIll during the early part of 1939 and contains colour head and shoulders portraits of top British footballers in that season. The backs start with the name, club and playing position before giving career records and background information, such as why Tommy Walker was called the "player money cannot buy", what was the first team Stan Cullis played for, at which sport was British Rovers goalkeeper a former champion etc. Other players include E.A. Hapgood, Robert M'Phail, goalie Edward Sagar and the legendary Stanley Matthews. An excellent football series with cards size 63 x 38m.
