The Soviet Paradise Lost

Author: Ivan Solonevich
Title: The Soviet Paradise Lost
Publication: New York: Paisley Press Inc., 1938
Edition: First

Description: Hardcover. 314. This is a fascinating tale from a Russian who was imprisoned, along with his brother and son, in Stalin's 1930's gulag. They all survived and managed to escape to England, where they published this harrowing account. It was years before Solzhenitsyn's work and might be considered a forerunner of One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich.
It is relatively uncommon in the market.

This copy is very good in red cloth with black titles on the spine and front cover. Minor fading at the top edges where the jacket was chipped. The binding is quite sound. The text is age-toned, but there are no other marks or damage.
The unclipped DJ shows some noticeable chipping along the edges and minor soiling. Very Good / Fair.
