Ironstone China Pitcher. Measurements: 8-3/8" Height (at Spout, 9" at Handle) x 6-1/2" Width x 8-1/2" Length (at Spout & Handle). 84 Ounce Capacity. The pitcher weighs 3 lbs. 4 oz. Company History: Jacob Furnival & Co. was an earthenware and ironstone manufacturer at Cobridge, Stoke-on-Trent, England from 1845 until 1870. Jacob's sons operated under various Furnivals names and initials after his retirement in ca. 1870. Maker's Mark: The pitcher has a printed black mark consisting of the Royal Coat of Arms, with Lion and Unicorn. Below is "IRONSTONE CHINA - J.F.". Condition: Excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs. Unusual for English Ironstone, the pitcher has almost no crazing except under the base. There is scuffing on both sides of the handle. See photos. |
