After years of preparation and planning, Efficient Velo Tools has released its first heavy-duty, portable bicycle repair stand, the super-stout FIELD UNIT.

This unique workstand, co-developed with our trusted collaborator, Minoura of Japan, features a licensed, approved copy of EVT’s legendary “Right Arm Clamp”. The Field Unit’s clamp, like the shop model, lets you rotate the bicycle more freely, only requires 2" (50 mm) of exposed seatpost and has a smooth counter-weighted handle which allows the mechanic to gently clamp any size seatpost with precise pressure control. The Field Unit accepts all 1.972” diameter clamps. Rated to hold up to 79 lbs (36 kg)!

EVT aimed for best-in-class in the development of the Field Unit, which is made with 65 mm and 45 mm oversized aluminum tubes in an adjustable-height tripod design for unsurpassed stability. The quick release levers throughout the stand are closed-cam style and made of steel for long term reliability. The Field Unit features soft rubber feet with thru-holes to facilitate staking down if desired.

Brett Flemming is the founder/owner of Efficient Velo Tools LLC. After becoming enamored by the manufacturing methods and business culture of Japan, he insisted on Japanese production of the Field Unit. Longtime trainer and workstand fabricator, Minoura Co. Ltd was a natural choice for a manufacturing partner.
