Vintage Chef Knife with Carbon Steel Blade & Wood Handle Made by Old File Cutlery Company

Old File Cutlery Company is a small cutlery manufacturer founded in 1906 in Havana, Illinois.  Like many of small cutlery firms, the early history of Old File Knife Company and its founder is a little unclear

This knife has the blade forged from the carbon steel designed to take a finer edge and hold it longer providing sharp cutting satisfaction.  The handle is triple riveted to sure fitting for durability, strength, & balance.

Maintenance Suggestion:  Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid.  After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.  Use of electric knife sharpener or dishwasher not recommended.
