A Super Premium coffee is born in Puerto Rico - 1839

Coffee arrived to Puerto Rico in 1736. In the 19th century coffee became the first agricultural product of the island. By the end of the century, Puerto Rico was the sixth largest exporter of coffee in the world.

In 1839, Alto Grande became a reality. Since then, it has delivered unparalleled quality and taste to the Royal Courts of Europe, the Vatican in Rome, and to the rest of the world.

Sustainability

As market leaders, we recognize that in addition to harvesting a high quality product, our commitment is to the community.

In 2014 we launched our project 'Sembrando el bien' ("sowing the good") to reaffirm this commitment. This project focuses on 4 elements that are essential to conserving the coffee industry:

  • Preserving the land
  • Connecting the community
  • Leading progress
  • Promoting wellness
