This signed card would make a great gift or investment. BIO: Shigeru Sugishita (Deceased) Japanese Hall of Fame Pitcher 1985 inductee, 215 Wins, 1,761 strikeouts, 3xEiji Sawamura Award (Japans Cy Young) in 1951, 1952 and 1954. He was named the 1954 MVP Central League, 1954 MVP Japan Series (World Series). Sugishita dominated the Central League from 1950–1955 winning more than 30 games twice (32 wins in 1952 and 32 wins in 1954). He won 20+ games four different seasons (27 wins in 1950, 28 wins in 1951, 23 wins in 1953 and 26 wins in 1955). Pitched a no-hitter on May 10th, 1955. He is one of only three players in NPB history to win the Sawamura Award, the MVP award, and the Japan Series MVP in the same season. Sugishita only played 11 seasons before retiring. He is often compared to Sandy Koufax.
