Hades was the eldest son of Cronus and Rhea, although the last son regurgitated by his father. He and his brothers, Zeus and Poseidon, defeated their father's generation of gods, the Titans, and claimed rulership over the cosmos. Hades received the underworld, Zeus the sky, and Poseidon the sea, with the solid earth, long the province of Gaia, available to all three concurrently. Hades was often portrayed with his three-headed guard dog Cerberus.
About Alabaster
Alabaster is derived from Greek "ἀλάβαστρος" ("alabastros") or "ἀλάβαστος" ("alabastos"), both used to denote a vase of alabaster, it is a translucent rock with similar properties to marble and it has been used for centuries for statuary, carvings, and other ornaments. Alabaster is processed to form a thin powder which is then mixed with resins and other components to provide high quality art products and decorative items with fine detail and a very smooth finish.
Please note that the item listed in this page is a hand finished, high quality, alabaster cast.
