ou will receive a set of 6 Pin-Back Buttons celebrating the infamous Mad Monk of Tsarist Russia RASPUTIN

Grigori Yefimovich Rasputin was a Russian peasant, mystic and private adviser to the Romanovs, who became an influential figure in the later years of the Tsar Nicolas’ reign. It appears that his personal influence over the Tsarina became so great that it was Rasputin who ordered the destinies of Imperial Russia, while she compelled her weak husband to fulfill them.

It was widely believed that Rasputin had a gift for curing bodily ailments. "In the mind of the Tsarina Rasputin was closely associated with the health of her son, and the welfare of the monarchy.”
The Tsarina and her family saw Rasputin as a prophet but his enemies saw him as a debauched religious charlatan, a lecher and a man heavily interested in sexual relations. While Rasputin's influence and role may have been exaggerated, historians agree that his presence played a significant part in the increasing unpopularity of the Tsar and his wife immediately prior to the February Revolution of 1917.

The death of Rasputin is the stuff of legend. On the night of December 17th, 1916, several conspirators poisoned him, shot him twice, beat him and threw him in a river. When the body was retrieved it was determined that he had drown. He died from drowning after being unsuccessfully poisoned, shot three times and beaten.
