Vera E. Chapman maritime impasto oil painting on canvas 17" x 12" . The painting is signed simply "Vera" the first name signature, subject matter and style matches that of Vera Chapman exactly. She is known for harbor scenes in Gloucester, Massachusetts and New England. The painting is in good condition, it shows one spot toward the upper right that appears to be a chip. There are few other small bare spots on the canvas that appear to be from lack of coverage when it was painted. The back of the canvas  looks like it may have had another painting on it on one time that was painted over as see through the holes in the paper dust cover. The painting is updated but the frame appears to be from the 50's or 60's
