Kennedy (1894-1957) was the most interesting of musicians. He played the violin as his first instrument, but also played the lute and harp. In addition to being a performer, he was the vice president of the Anthropological Society of New South Wales. As a composer, he was an ethnomusicologist, popular at the time throughout Europe. He possessed a collection of rare, historical musical instruments and curated the first such show in Australia in 1933, later opening a musicology museum in Sydney. He was a wunderkind, giving his first solo recital in 1905. He studied in Sydney and Vienna. Kennedy performed concerts throughout Australia and New Zealand, London, the United States and Fiji. Eventually he opened the Kennedy Conservatorium of Music.
