Antique Etched Brass Metal & Mother of Pearl Trinket Box; Up for sale is the footed brass metal trinket box with mother of pearl inlay on the lid, dated early 20th century. The lion claw footed box with a hinged lid is in a rectangular shape. It is out skirted by brass metal to show golden color, the surface of which is etched at four sides with rose flowers and leaves. The lid with mother of pearl inlay is decorated at the center with an oval medallion in relief, on which a rose motif and leaves are painted and accompanied by guilloche decoration. The oval medallion is surrounded and decorated by iron metal which is attractive to a magnet. Inside the box with an elevated region at the right side is covered all around with velvet felt fabric. The bottom is also covered with velvet felt fabric. The box can be locked and appears to be a music box with a winding key at the bottom in the past, which however is not working. No other marks are found.

Measures: 8” wide x 6” deep x 4” high; Weight, 2 lbs & 4.3 oz (~1.03 kg). Condition: Very good and clean, with mild damage to velvet felt fabric at the bottom and a mild bent to one leg as indicated, consistent with age and use.
