Vintage XL Bolstered Style Butcher Knife  with Carbon Steel Blade, Bolster, & Wood Handle Made by Simmons Hardware Company

In 1874, Edward C. Simmons founded Simmons Hardware Company in St. Louis, Missouri.  Its products include knives, saws, ...They defined its products saying, "If you can't eat it, and it don't pour or fold, it's hardware".  It has many brands including the famous Keen Kut, Simmons, Oak Leaf.

This knife has the blade hand forged from the fine carbon steel designed to take a finer edge and hold it longer providing sharp cutting satisfaction.  The handle is triple riveted over the full tang and single bolstered to good fitting for durability, strength, & balance.

No trademark.  It is Keen Kutter knife from E. C. Simmons.

Maintenance Suggestion:  Hand wash only in warm water after using, especially if used on foods that have acidic sauce/liquid.  After washing it, wipe the blade and handle completely dry.  Use of electric knife sharpener or dishwasher not recommended.
