FASCINATING AZURITE AND MALACHITE CRYSTALS ON MATRIX 122 X 70 X 62 MM 420 G

With no exaggeration, this is a unique piece of the Azurite and Malachite crystals on a matrix, originating from Errachidia Province in Morocco. The natural shape of the crystals creates a stunning display. The combination of Azurite and Malachite on the white and yellow matrix (Barite?) creates a striking contrast of blue and green, making it a visually captivating display piece.

Azurite is a soft mineral, named for its deep “azure blue” colour. It is a Copper carbonate mineral found in the upper oxidized portions of Copper ore formed in masses, nodules, tabular or prismatic crystals, sometimes with a vitreous lustre.

Malachite is a copper carbonate mineral, and the result of the oxidation of copper sulfide minerals. It is found associated with azurite. It has long been used as a source of copper, pigments, and decorative objects.

The specimen measures approx. 122 x 70 x 62 mm at widest points, and weighs 420 g.
