Apply alkaline Color Gels Lacquers on Zone 1 (regrowth) and acidic Shades EQ Gloss on Zones 2 & 3 (midlengths and ends) for maximum color results and minimum stress on hair.

With the reinvention of Redken’s Color Gels Lacquers, there are now two liquid colors to love behind the chair – Color Gels Lacquers & Shades EQ Gloss. Pair these two liquid haircolor lines to create the modern color techniques your clients are asking for, including color melts, root shadows and much more! Color Gels Lacquers should be used on virgin hair, “zone 1”, and Shades EQ Gloss should be used throughout mid-lengths and ends.

How To

  • Color Gels Lacquers is mixed in a 1:1 ratio using Redken Pro-Oxide Cream Developers (10 - 40 vol.). Progressive processing time depending on the volume of Pro-Oxide developer used is below:

10 Volume – 20 minutes

20 Volume – 30 minutes

30 Volume – 40 minutes

40 Volume – 45 minutes

  • New Color Gels Lacquers is not intermixable with the previous Color Gels Lacquers Emulsified Developer.
  • Processing time varies based on the level of developer used with optimal gray coverage at 20 volume for 30 minutes.
