This item is the triple digit seven-segment display unit only (with the other little pips/dots). This is NOT the entire control board. No supplies, only the display. Check your "broken" part number, size, and pin-layout before purchasing. No returns accepted. Note the part number suffix appears to be a date and bin code. You'll probably be okay with only the first characters matching, but again verify the size, etc.

This item is only for the DIY person who is comfortable with a soldering iron and taking apart electronics. It was a tad more challenging than I expected, but doable for someone with patience, a decent soldering toolkit and soldering supplies, and other tools. You absolutely need a soldering iron to do the work.

If you wreck your control board trying to "fix" it or if this part smokes your control board, that's your problem. Buy a new control board from the manufacturer.

How I Did It
  1. Unplugged grill.
  2. Remove screws from control panel, let dangle since I didn't want to cut wires or disconnect them below.
  3. Verified the part number matched.
  4. Verified the pin-layout matched.
  5. Verified the dimensions matched.
  6. Scoured internet. Bought the part.
  7. Attempted to use desoldering iron to disconnect display. Gave up.
  8. Memorized the position of the unit's distance from the breadboard.
  9. Clipped the 12 leads leaving enough length to grab them with needle nose pliers.
  10. Used my good 80-watt soldering iron running at 425°C to push the 12 leads through the breadboard, pulling with pliers.
  11. Fought for an embarrassing long time getting nearly all the solder out of the 12 holes on the breadboard. This took the longest. Almost drilled them but you'll need some tiny metric drill bits as 1/16" is too fat.
  12. Test fit new part.
  13. Fluxed.
  14. Soldered 2 opposite corner leads ensuring a proper level position at the right distance from the breadboard.
  15. Soldered remaining 10 leads.
  16. Reassembled, turned unit on, and cheered with victory.
  17. Smoke some ribs, low and slow.

Story
My Grilla Grill's display was going bad as you see in the photo. I scoured the internet for the proper part and bought a few extra, so I'm selling them.

Unknowns
This item may work on the Chimp or Silverbac digital control boards, but I'm not sure since I don't have them. Look at the part characteristics and let me know. Again, no refunds.
