Hegarty, a naughty girl with a bobbed hair, and Mugi-kun, a skinny boy who is good at drawing. Although they are not popular in their class, they are the best of friends, and when they share their worries and loneliness, they somehow turn into smiles. The woman at the sandwich counter with big eyes and light blue eyelids that fascinated Mugi, and another sibling that Hegarty happened to know by chance... The curtain opens on a story in which they support each other's aspirations and search for the door to adulthood.
