Here’s my used Mitutoyo 950-156 indicator set, it’s accurate with no issues. I made two rods that I spun down to 12mm (.472) to fit the sets clamp. I also tapped the four ends of the rods to M6 x 1 so I could add the 4 ½” rod from the set to any end if I needed the extra reach. I ran a boring bar and put the rods in a Jacob chuck and turned the spindle so I could indicate inside & outside diameters. I bought this new when I started machining in 1978, the indicator was replaced once. I retired after machining for 43 years and now selling my tools.
