These boots are the original 2243s made in the 80s, and differ from the 2243s of the 90s in several respects. Aside from having some white stitching present instead of all black, as well as having nickel hardware instead of oil-rubbed bronze, these 2243s primarily differ by having lug pattern Supersoles instead of the diamond pattern soles on newer 2243s. In addition, the black chrome tanned leather of these 2243s seems to have an overall better quality and sheen than the newer version, and could very well be worn with more formal attire.
These 2243s seem to run more true to size than the newer version. I normally wear US 10.5D boots, and these 10.5EEE boots are too wide on me, but the length seems just about right.
These 10.5EEE 2243s should fit someone who normally wears 10.5EEE boots, and possibly someone who normally wears a slightly smaller sized boot after replacing the given footbeds with a thicker alternative.
A packing slip will be provided with the boots that shows the Item Subtotal, Shipping Cost, Sales Tax, and Order Total. In case the boots are to be used for work in a company that helps cover the cost of footwear, the packing slip should qualify as a proper receipt that can be shown to one's employer.
Some pictures in this listing show images from Red Wing product catalogs which are intended for informational purposes only and won’t be provided with the boots.
These boots were cleaned and conditioned prior to being posted on eBay, and were treated almost exclusively with Red Wing Shoes branded care products. The only non-Red Wing product used on the boots was the UV Shoe Sanitizer made by PediFix to help ensure that the interior of the boots were properly disinfected.
Posted below is a link to
various Red Wing Shoes care products I have available. If anything else is
purchased within a few hours of buying the boots, I’ll be able to combine the
orders and ship everything together. If the link doesn’t work, search for ‘Misc
care’ on my store page and the listing should pop up.
