――The Type 79 was introduced in the 6th round of the Belgian Grand Prix the following year as a completed version of the Type 78, an innovative wing car introduced by Lotus in 1977.
――By inboarding the rear suspension and changing the layout of the fuel tank and exhaust pipe, the Venturi effect is maximized and the speed is overwhelming.
――Mario Andretti suddenly finished pole-to-finish, and after that he continued to make good progress with Ronnie Peterson, winning 5 Mario Andretti and 1 Ronnie Peterson.
