His legacy includes exhibiting at the Royal Academy, membership in the Associated Painters, and presidency of the Society of Painters in Oil and Watercolours.

Robson hosted a farewell gathering for Charles Robert Leslie before Leslie's departure for America.
His final days were marked by a journey to visit friends, but he succumbed to illness and passed away on September 8th, 1833, in London.
He rests in the churchyard of St. Mary-le-Bow in Durham.
