Antique Phoenix Bird of Paradise Cast Iron Shelf
Bracket; Up for sale is this antique cast iron shelf
bracket with a phoenix bird of paradise, dated 19th century.
The double-sided bracket shows the design of a flying phoenix bird with
long tails scattered, just like a peacock showing its feathers in full bloom. The
iron bracket shows a rich rusty patina, revealing its old age. Notably, this is
not a pair but a single piece. No marks were found.
Measures: Dimensions, 12” wide, x 14 ¼” high x 1
5/8” thick (across thickest points); Weight, 5 lbs & 12.9 oz (2.63 kg).
Condition: Very good and clean, with natural rust.
The end of the frame close to the bird’s head was broken as shown in photo 17, the
hole of the vertical frame at the center was broken as shown in photo 18.
