Incredible pre-war collection of football autographs

17 double-sided loose pages taken from an autograph album, featuring a who's who of autographs from pre-war British football. Most of the early legends of the sport are featured, including some autographs that are extremely hard to find. The autographs are mostly signed on paper that was then glued onto the album pages. Here is a non-exhaustive list of autographs that are included. There are a few that I don't recognise:

G.O. Smith - the amateur forward who played for Corinthians and Casuals and is often referred to as "the first great centre forward. Captained England at least thirteen times.
Billy Bassett - played 261 Football League games for West Brom, scoring 61 goals. He also played 16 times for England, scoring 8 goals and becoming one of the game's earliest celebrities. In 1998, he was listed among the Football League 100 Legends
Steve Bloomer - Derby & England legend. Incredible career record of 352 goals in 599 appearance. Scored 28 in 23 games for country.
Charlie Roberts - legendary Man Utd centre half who was instrumental in setting up the Player's Union. Helped Manchester United win the 1908 and 1911 league titles as well as the 1909 FA Cup.
Robert Crompton - made 530 appearance for Blackburn Rovers, winning the league twice as their Captain. 41 appearances for England
Billy Meredith - the Welsh Wizard! One of the early superstars of the game who won all domestic trophies in a career mainly spent between the two Manchester sides. 48 caps for Wales.
Eddie Hapgood - Captained both Arsenal and England during the 1930's.
Peter McWilliam AKA Peter The Great - he won every domestic trophy during his 9 years at Newcastle Utd
Dixie Dean - holds the record for the most goals scored in a single season in top-flight English football, with 60. He is regarded as one of the greatest centre-forwards of all time and was inducted into the English Football Hall of Fame in 2002
Cliff Bastin - Arsenal's third-highest goal scorer of all time. With Arsenal, he won the FA Cup twice and the First Division title five times!
Alex James - creative playmaker who won six trophies at Arsenal between 1930 to the 1936. Also had successful spells at Raith Rovers & Preston North End
Sam Hardy - England International goalkeeper who had a distinguished career including spells at Liverpool, Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest
Vivian J. Woodward - captained Great Britain to gold medals at the 1908 Olympics in London and in Stockholm in 1912. Woodward's tally of 29 goals in 23 matches for England remained a record from 1911 to 1958; his strike rate of 1.26 goals per game is the second highest for an England player.
John Reid Smith - Scottish centre forward who helped Bolton Wanderers win the FA Cup in 1923 and 1926.
John Goodall - talented forward best known for his stints at Derby County (where he mentored a young Steve Bloomer) and Preston North End. Scored 12 times in 14 games for England, despite being born to Scottish parents
Hughie Gallacher - legendary Scottish centre forward. Gallacher scored 463 goals in 624 senior games, including 24 in 20 for his country.
Charles Buchan - best known for his career with Sunderland, where he became leading scorer for 7 of his 9 seasons with the club. He remains the club's all-time record League goal scorer and was a winner of the First Division title in 1913
Billy Walker - prominent English footballer of the 1920s/30s. He is considered by many to be one of the greatest footballers to ever play for Aston Villa and England. As a manager he won the FA Cup with Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest, some 24 years apart, a record which still stands.
William Reid - played up front for Rangers for eight seasons and was one of the club's greatest ever goal scorers (188 goals in 217 matches)
Alec McNair - defender for Celtic for 21 years and represented the Scotland national team in 15 official internationals between 1906 and 1920. McNair also represented the Scottish League XI 15 times. Managed Dundee from 1925 until 1927
Elisha Scott - Northern Irish goalkeeper who played for Liverpool from 1912 to 1915 and from 1919 to 1934, and still holds the record as their longest-serving player.
Andy 'Daddler' Aitken - one of the most prominent early Association footballers. Helped Newcastle achieve promotion from the 2nd division in 1898, and captained the Magpies from 1899 to 1905. He was a key part of the their team that won the club's first League Championship in the 1904–05 season as well as appearing in two (losing) FA Cup Finals.
Alec Smith - Was at Rangers for 21 years until retiring in 1915, and was part of Rangers' treble-winning teams of 1896–97, 1899–1900 and 1910–11, and their run of four consecutive championships from 1898 to 1902. In total he made 642 competitive appearances for the club (4th highest in their history) and scored 200 goals.
Fred Keenor - Cardiff City legend who's career at the club was interrupted by WWI. He fought in the Battle of the Somme, suffering a severe shrapnel wound to his thigh. Remarkably returned to professional football after lengthy rehabilitation. Captained the club to FA Cup glory in 1927.
Patsy Gallagher - Irish footballer who played at inside-right and is most noted for his career at Celtic - one of the club's leading goal scorers of all time.
John 'Jock' Simpson - distinguished career at Falkirk and Blackburn Rovers. Won the Football League First Division title in 1911–12 and 1913–14 whilst at Ewood Park.
Jesse 'Peerless' Pennington - West Brom legend who made 455 league appearances for the club, captaining them to the league title in 1919–1920. He was also part of the team promoted from the Second Division in 1911 and received an FA Cup runners-up medal in 1912.
Jimmy Brownlie - an outstanding personality in Scottish football over many years, as a goalkeeper and later a manager.
Robert Hamilton - Scottish international striker, most notable for his ten-season association with Rangers, where he scored 154 goals in just 164 appearances.
Harry Rennie - Scottish football goalkeeper who played for Morton, Hearts, Hibs, Rangers, Kilmarnock and the Scotland national team. He was renowned for introducing several innovative concepts to goalkeeping in Scottish football
George Stevenson - player and manager at Motherwell who made 510 appearances and was in the team that won the club's only League Title in history (1932)
Jimmy McMullen - distinguished career at Partick Thistle & Manchester City. He won 16 Scotland caps as a player and was part of the famous "Wembley Wizards" side of 1928.
Hughie Ferguson - prolific Scottish centre forward who scored 363 goals in 435 career games. He finished top scorer in the Scottish football league on three occasions and later scored the winning FA Cup Final goal for Cardiff City in 1927.
Andrew Ducat - was an England and Surrey cricketer and an England International footballer, being one of an elite group to have represented their country in both sports. He died while batting at Lord's (the only player to do so) in 1942 at the age of 56. He played pro football for Woolwich Arsenal, Aston Villa & Fulham.
Alan Morton - Scottish footballer who played as an outside left for Queen's Park, Rangers and Scotland. He won the Scottish league championship in 1921, 1923, 1924, 1925, 1927, 1928, 1929, 1930 and 1931.
Jimmy McMenemy - inside forward and Celtic legend who played for the club between 1902 and 1920 and was later assistant manager
David Jack - scored 267 goals from 490 appearances in the Football League playing for Plymouth Argyle, Bolton Wanderers and Arsenal. He was the first footballer to be transferred for a fee in excess of £10,000, was the first to score at Wembley – in the 1923 FA Cup Final – and was capped nine times for England.
Billy Wedlock - English centre half who played most of his career at Bristol City. He won 26 England caps between 1907 and 1914,with his only rival for the centre-half position being Charlie Roberts of Manchester United

There are many other football autographs, to include: Dennis Hodgetts, E.T. Vizard, Reverend Kenneth Reginald Gunnery Hunt, Bobby Reid, Joe Nibloe, Harry Hibbs, Alex Massie, Andy Wilson, Johnny Walker, Andy Cunningham, Willie Steel, Alec Bennett, John Tait 'Jacky' Robertson, Bob Mercer, Peter Nellies, J. D. Harkness, David Meiklejohn, Billy Hibbert, Bobby Templeton (1880-1919), Tommy Hyslop, Jimmy Gordon, George Stevenson, Andy Jackson and more. There's also a page that has the signatures of the 1960 Airdrieonians squad including directors, the trainer and the manager Willie Steel (his second autograph in this lot).

The back of a few of the album pages have non-football autographs. Listed are some of those that I recognise: Malcolm Campbell (motorsport), Jimmie Guthrie aka 'The Flying Scotsman' (motorcycle racing), John Bannerman, Baron Bannerman of Kildonan (rugby union & politics), Flora Robson (actress), Charles Milne Usher (rugby union), G.P.S. Macpherson (rugby union), and a small ALS by Learie Nicholas Constantine, Baron Constantine, MBE, the Trinidadian cricketer, lawyer and politician who served as Trinidad and Tobago's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and became the UK's first black peer.

This is an incredible collection of autographs that would take a lifetime, if even possible, to collect. Generally in good/very good condition. The album page are slightly wavy in nature.
