Brain Dead‘s latest drop is titled “MONDO BRAIN DEAD,” inspired in equal parts by the obscure and disturbing cultural rituals presented in exploitation films like Mondo Cane (or A Dog’s Life) and by the surfing/skate slang term “mondo” (used as an extreme superlative). The drop combines these subcultures like shokushu goukan (Japanese tentacle erotica) with the skate-inspired fits that the brand is known for, recruiting artists like Chris Oh and Jen Shear to use their talents on cut-and-sew pieces like Hawaiian shirts, khaki noragis and rainwash-dyed crewneck pullovers.
