Too Many Parties, Too Many Pals covers celebrated criminal cases in Newfoundland spanning 200 years of history. It offers a solution to a hundred year old murder mystery that had never been decided in the courts. It brings to light many unknown but interesting criminal cases such as the murder of Pat Yetman at Cape Broyle by an American banking skipper, the Michael Whelan story in which Whelan, after being sentenced for murder, escapes from Her Majesty's Penitentiary and is never recaptured, and the graveyard crime of James Murphy of Harbour Maine.

More recent crimes cover the infamous Dr. Alfred Valdmanis • story, tracing his life from Latvia to Berlin during the Second World War and then into great detail on the method he used to defraud the Newfoundland Government of $470,000 during the early days of Confederation.

New light is shed on the Ethel Tucker murder at St. Phillips and intricate details disclosed of the gruesome murders on Campbell Avenue of Minnie Kelly and Esther Hefferman. The story of a guillotine execution following St. Pierre's most horrible murder is also told.
