Protection Paints Zero-Mould is an effective anti-mould and mould proof acrylic paint that prevents various types of mould. Mould can easily build up in rooms with high moisture and poor air flow, such as bathrooms and basements.
Zero-Mould is designed to prevent even the toughest types of mould, including toxic black mould, which is notoriously difficult to completely remove from surfaces. If not removed or prevented, black mould can cause a number of medical ailments, including skin rashes, breathing difficulties, coughing and sneezing, and eye irritation.
Zero-Mould has proven effective against:
• Aspergillus versicolor
• Aureobasidium pullulans
• Cladosporium Cladosporioides (common black mould)
• Penicillium purpurogenum
• Phoma violacea
• Rhodotorula rubra (common red mould)
• Ulocladium attrum
• Sporobolomyces roseus
Zero-Mould mould proof paint is available in a range of colours from the RAL classic and BS 4800 charts. Paint your walls in the colour of your choice while preventing the build up of mould in your home.
For an alternative paint for general mould from walls and ceilings, please see Mould-Guard. We also have a range of other hygiene coatings available, including anti-viral systems that prevent viruses and bacteria from lingering on indoor surfaces.

WARNING!
If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. Special precautions should be taken during the surface preparation of pre-1960’s paint surfaces over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead. When dry-sanding avoid dust inhalation by wearing a suitable protective face mask.
Stains:
Rust, tannin, grease, mould and mildew and other stains should be blocked with the appropriate stain killing primer-sealer. When priming over stained areas, first attempt to remove as much of the stain as possible by washing, sanding, scraping, etc.
Application:
Shake or stir well before using. Apply with synthetic bristle brush, short pile roller or mohair roller sleeve. For airless spraying, use a .017 tip and high medium (2000- 2600 PSI) pressure. Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 10°and 32°C and humidity is less than 80%. Zero-Mould is designed to be used as is. If thinning is necessary (such as with conventional sprayer applications), use only water and no more than 10% by volume.
Dry Time:
Dries in 30 minutes. Apply a second coat after 4 hours. If used above tile on shower walls, wait at least 24 hours before using the shower. Do not scrub the new coating for seven days.
Cleanup:
Clean up spills and drips immediately with warm water and liquid detergent. Wash application tools in warm, soapy water immediately after use. If product has dried on application tool, soak it overnight in a solution of equal parts household ammonia and water. Follow manufacturer’s instructions when cleaning spray equipment. Use brush cleaner to remove dried paint from brushes.
(Coverage rate can be affected by such variables as type and condition of substrate, type of application equipment and individual method of application.)
