These solid carbide 2-flute end mills are ideal for high performance cutting of aluminium, plastic and softer steels. 2 flute geometry has better chip clearance than 4 flute, and generates less heat, so material can be removed faster and with less wear on the cutter and less heat transferred to the work.
However for cutting harder steels, 4 flute geometry is recommended, as the high level of force generated cutting such material is distributed over a larger area and so has less chance of breaking a cutter.

Which coating should I choose?
Uncoated: Uncoated carbide is the best for cutting aluminium, as there is a reduced chance of galling (heat and friction causing aluminium to adhere to the cutter) which can ruin surface finish and lead to cutters seizing in the work.
TiSiN Coated: TiSiN is best for cutting harder materials, as Titanium Silicon Nitride adds an even harder surface finish to an already hard solid carbide cutter, and has higher heat resistance. However coated bits should not be used with aluminium except in a pinch due to the higher risk of galling.
