Vintage World War I United States Military Discharge Paper 1917 + Red Cross Cert
- Certificate of Discharge from Military Service for Loren Frank Lockwood of Duquoin Kansas, August 20, 1917. On the ground that he was a married man with dependents. 8" x 10-3/8"
- American Red Cross Certificate for his wife Mrs. Loren Lockwood for the year 1918, Harper Chapter, Duquoin Auxiliary. 5" x 3"
Sadly, Loren's younger brother Pvt Emery Lockwood died in France at the age of 24 in 1918, US Army, 353rd Infantry Regiment, 89th Division, and is buried Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery. Their father Frank Lockwood had 9 children. The oldest child, Roy, who was Loren's older brother registered for the WWI draft in Harper Kansas in 1917, but survived the war. Loren lived from 1890-1966.
