FIVE Antique French doilies
Those little handmade lace doilies are from my Mother and Grandmother.
They are from the 1910/20s and made using bobbin lacing I believe.
The lace is made of a very fine and strong thread; Fil d'Ecosse known in English as Scottish Yarn or Lisle Thread
See photos for size. The largest one is about 8" in diameter.
They can be used for floral arrangements or for displays in cabinets de curiosités.
OR they can be used for craft projects
Ideal to be displayed as mobiles or suncatchers or wall hangers!
They have been hand-washed, heavily starched and pressed.
